The secular scientific media is joyfully discussing the upcoming Eclipse Across America which will occur on the 21st of August.
Christians ought to join them in anticipating this impressive spectical. We should use it as an opportunity to be impressed by the Creator of it all.
There are many astronomical light shows of one sort or another in the Bible. One particularly memorable eclipse happened during Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.
“It was now about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour, while the sun’s light failed. And the curtain of the temple was torn in two. Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!” And having said this he breathed his last. Now when the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, “Certainly this man was innocent!””
Consider using this year’s “Eclipse Across America” as an excuse to share the story of Christ with skygazers near you!
